Moura is located in Banana Shire on the Dawson Highway,

180km south-west of Rockhampton or 586 km north-west of Brisbane.

This diverse township is located in the Dawson Valley.

Apex Park at the Dawson River

The Apex Park at the Dawson River is a popular fishing, boating, swimming and picnic area only a few minutes from the town. It is approximately 10 kms along the Dawson Highway heading towards Rolleston.

Developed and maintained by Moura Apex and Fish Stocking Group, this area is ideal for camping, with often 50+ caravans on site during the winter months.

All locals enjoy water skiing and other aquatic activities on the Dawson River all year round.


Tee Off For Golf

The Moura and District Golf Club is nestled in a picturesque rural setting on the banks of the Dawson River 6km West of Moura on the Dawson highway. T

he par 72 course has surprisingly well maintained greens with a total course length of 5896 metres.

The course consists of 9 holes with 18 alternate tees.

Club days include Veterans Days on Wednesdays at 8:30 am, Thursday Club at 2pm Thursdays and the Club competition is held on Sundays at 12 noon.


Go For A Walk Or A Run

Discover Moura's 3 km of footpath. The route will take you from the tennis courts across the recreation grounds.

Look out for the skate park on your right, and you might also see the roof bolting rigs used in the annual Coal and Country Festival.

Meet up with Master Street (Kianga Hall on your left) then turn right on to Gillespie Street.

Run past Moura State School and the High School then turn right on to Herzog Street.

Hang another right on to McRae Street. As you turn, you'll see the Dawson View Estate over on the other side of Herzog Street.

Keep on to the end of McRae street and you've competed 2.5km.

Cross the road and do a hairpin bend up to Minogue Street.

Turn into Minogue Street, past the hospital and turn right on to Nott Street.

Join the footpath again and carry on up the hill another 400metres until you're back where you came from.

You've now run 3km.


Other Sporting Facilities

Other sporting facilities include a Golf Course, Bowling Green, rodeo grounds, cricket and football fields, tennis, basketball and squash courts.

Young people can enjoy Pony Club, Junior Sports including Little Athletics, cricket, football, soccer, swimming, squash and motor X, as well as Scouts, Guides, SES Cadets, Karate and Ballet.
